First, BidPlus won't be simply adding credits into everyone's account. Instead, they will just not charge during those months when AFA is taking care of the service for you. Everyone gets a free month for joining. Then, if they attend an online webinar, you are eligible to earn another free credit. This is for first-time webinar attendees only.
If you have already attended a webinar, then you have already received your free credit. The credit for new members and the credit for attending a webinar will be added to each account as appropriate. AFA will then cover two additional months where BidPlus won't be charging any credits. Any existing credits will not be spent down for those months. Instead, we will just allow free access to the bid packages. Finally, BidPlus is taking care of September for you because of the bid upload issue.
So to be clear, AFA is not simply adding 4 credit to everyone's account. Instead, we have come to an arrangement where you will have the opportunity to enjoy between 3 and 5 free months depending on your individual situation and previous business relationship with BidPlus.
They were problems of a different nature, but the same outcome. I know what it's like to suddenly have the lights go down, the cow kick the bucket or pail or whatever it was over, and a hot time on the Internet tonight with all your website buh-bye. I could imagine poor Skip who was stuck out on a trip faced with no website and hundreds of flight attendants Yours Truly included not able to download the bid packages.
By the way, the bids are now available to download through BidPlus and the lines just as crummy as ever. As of this morning, the BidPlus website itself is running mostly normal; sans a few graphics So bid away!! That surge went through and whacked a bunch of their servers, including the one that hosts our web site. The result is that it rendered our site useless. We still only have limited access to it to start the massive repair process.
All of our web pages over were deleted! That's why our home page looks so funny now www. And it's also why you were not able to download or upload your bids, update or access your profile, purchase additional time, download a copy of the program, or access any of the Knowledge Base.
In short, it was a catastrophe.
